Tips for Holistic Living
It is important to remember that living a holistic lifestyle is a proactive process. It's a life-long journey of choices you make to create balance and to achieve the highest potential of well-being for body, mind and soul. Living a holistic lifestyle means a lifestyle that influences the "WHOLE PERSON."

That means all areas of your life are impacted by your choices: body, mind, spirit, relationships, career, creativity, self-care, health-care and wealth-care, your environment, how you choose to spend your time and the thoughts and actions that  produce the results of your reality. You have to start where you are, accept the lessons your life's journey is teaching you and take individual responsibility for the balance, growth and change you want to make for yourself and the planet. Living a holistic lifestyle doesn't have to be difficult and it doesn't have to take a lot of time. All it takes is to make conscious choices and to live by them one choice at a time.

My goal is to gently show you how simple it is to incorporate more conscious choices into your life. It doesn't have to be complicated, time consuming or difficult. Just make one choice at a time. If you aren't fully satisfied with your choices, choose again, and again and again, until you feel it is the right choice
for you. 

SIMPLE TIPS I LIVE BY

I take a moment of gratitude for the day upon awakening. I Bless myself, my family, my friends and the planet. I know I am safe.

I make choices about what I put in and on my body. For me, being mindful about what goes in and goes on my body creates more harmony in and around me. If I CHOOSE to have chocolate cake for breakfast, I would eat it mindfully and enjoy every bite. My more conscious choice is usually a protein shake with some fruit or a some whole grain and organic decaf coffee. Regardless of the choice I will eat mindfully and with gratitude.

I breathe deeply. I move my body vigorously for at least 30 minutes every day. I Shake it out, walk briskly, practice yoga, ride a bike, do jumping jacks or go to the gym...I just do something to get the oxygen and blood flowing.

I limit my tv watching to a few favorite shows. I like Private Practice and Boston Legal. I like to read life-affirming stories and listen to inspirational music. I love Deva Premal, Guru Dev and any kind of chanting.

I take time to quiet my mind daily, with 15-20 minutes of silent meditation. I can think clearer because of it.

I enjoy the work I do and the people I help. I am surrounded by positive and supportive people. I look for the opportunity in every challenges I am faced with.
 
I express myself creatively. That doesn't mean I have to be an artist and paint pictures. It can be through the clothes I wear, how I choose to cook a meal, how I answer the phone or the way I decorate a room. Lately I have been wearing fuchsia hair extensions. It's fun and different. I like to challenge myself to try new things so I don't feel stagnant in the same old habits. 

I consciously listen with kindness and stay open to new ideas.

I take care of myself first. I get regular massage or acupuncture treatments. I go for a walks in nature with my dog and get the rest I need. By taking care of myself first, I am taking care of those around me. I say no when something doesn't feel right and I say yes when I am energized and happy.

I value all my finances earned as equally as my finances spent. My money is an exchange of energy in the universe like everything else.

I contribute to helping the planet thrive. My husband and I recycle everything we can. We often have more recycling than we have garbage. This makes me very happy.
